Two Types Of Car Seat Upholstery
One of the features that many people look at when
they are shopping for a car is the upholstery.
Essentially, there are two types of car seat
upholstery. These are vinyl and cloth. Both are
heavier than similar materials used for other
purposes.
Vinyl is the most common choice for trucks and
utility vehicles. This is because these vehicles are
normally used by working class people and generally
driven for work purposes. Vinyl is much easier to
clean if it becomes soiled.
Luxury type vehicles and many middle level cars have
cloth seats. The exact type of cloth depends a great
deal on whether the car is a luxury model or a
family sedan. Luxury cares tend to have softer, more
luxurious cloth upholstery. Velour and velvet are
common choices. The upholstery in family cars often
tends to be a bit rougher and less expensive.
These are not the only two types of car seat
upholstery available in today's market, just the
most common. In cars and trucks that are designed
purely as luxury vehicles leather is often used
because it is more supple, more durable, and
represents more of a status symbol. Choices of color
and material make shopping for a car more
interesting.
